Surrondings |
Tynwald,
in New Norfolk, is set on 40 acres and looks across the tranquil
River and a valley rich in history. The perfect place to
experience nature at her best, the Tynwald gardens feature in
the ABC Open Gardens Program, while a Wetlands Sanctuary and
Derwent River walks are right outside the Front Door.
A little further afield you
will find Vineyards, the Salmon Ponds, a jet boat ride, fishing,
Lake Pedder, Mount Field National Park and the famous Russell
Falls.
The Granary, a self-contained
cottage in the grounds of Tynwald, provides for those who
perhaps wish to extend a stay with us. Originally built in 1822
of local stone, it has been beautifully refurbished to provide
seclusion and privacy in the garden. Enjoy dinner, and stroll
back to 'The Granary' to snuggle up next to the fire. What a
perfect way to finish the day.
